New Results: 2D carbon network featuring appealing properties

We have synthesized a 2D carbon network as a graphdiyne-like structure. The material grown on a gold substrate has been investigate by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy allowing to image at molecular-scale resolution. We were able to observe the Raman spectrum giving combined information on the local bond structure. The system shows appealing properties due to the interaction with the gold substrate. This work is the result of  a collaboration between EspLORE, University of Milan and Tonji Unversity, Shangai (P.R. China).
